Rejoice Rather In This!

Yesterday was without a doubt one of the best moments of my life, my mother surprised me with a late birthday gift in form of my first pair of Vans Sneakers. I might have a slight obsession with Vans sneakers, check my Pinterest you will know what I’m talking about lol! I love vans so much I was willing to settle for similar looking shoes from Bata lol. Anyway long story short, my beloved mother decided to get me a pair, never in my life did I think this would happen to me so soon. The last time I got something I this excited about was probably when I was 7, my dad got me a bike, best day ever!

Do you remember the best moment of your life?

I would like to share a story from the bible today, this story is recorded in Luke 10. Jesus sent the 72 to go out and preach Jesus and Heal people and cast out demons in His name. And they did so, when they returned they were so excited( like when I got my Vans and Bike lol) that they cast out demons in Jesus name and did all these things they probably never thought they would do. And so they run to tell Jesus about the amazing things that had happened I can imagine with all they excitement they had. And Jesus instead of joining in this excitement, he gave an answer that would make one think he is a buzzkill, yet it was so true, he said: Luke 10:20 “Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

Nothing more matters in this life other than knowing FOR SURE that your name is in the book of life. Nothing on earth can compare to the glory of heaven, not getting a bike for the first time or getting your first pair of vans or driving out demons! Nothing this earth can promise can surpass the treasure stored up for us in heaven. If you know that your name is written in the book of life, rejoice in that, whatever else you have doesn’t really matter.

Dear brother/Sister, is your name written in the book of life???

“Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” Colossians 3:2-4
